About Us

Born in Amarillo, Texas on December 17, 1983, Amanda grew up in Bozeman, Montana and Flagstaff, Arizona. She started high school at Bozeman High in the fall of 1998, spent a year and a half at Amarillo High School, and then returned to BHS where she graduated in 2002. While at BHS, she participated in the band program and numerous clubs. During her senior year, Amanda, along with 30 other BHS students joined the Spirit of the West Marching Band at Montana State University to participate in the 2001 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Upon graduation, Amanda decided to attend MSU and continue participating in the marching band. On May 10th, 2008, Amanda graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.

Born on September 25, 1980, Karl grew up and attended school in Chester, Montana. He graduated from Chester High School in 1999 as the class salutatorian. He then moved to Bozeman, Montana to attend Montana State University. Despite initially majoring in Architecture for 2 years, Karl graduated in 2005 with his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. At MSU, Karl actively participated in the Spirit of the West Marching Band and the Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. Since graduation, Karl co-founded DaCapo Multimedia Ltd. Co. with his business partner Jeremy "Hobbes" Hayden and has been working as a consultant for Electronic Data Systems.

Although they both participated in the Spirit of the West Marching Band together in 2001 and 2002, Amanda and Karl did not really meet until the fall of 2003 when Amanda began the initiation process into the Beta Chapter of the National Honorary Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. They got to know each other better in the spring of 2004 when the Beta Chapter decided to take a week long road trip around the Midwest District to visit other chapters of the Fraternity. It was shortly after this trip that they began dating.
